What is Contractor Insurance?

Contractor insurance is a package of coverages designed to protect construction businesses from job site accidents, lawsuits, property damage, and employee injuries.

It typically includes:

  • General Liability

  • Workers’ Compensation

  • Commercial Auto

  • Tools & Equipment Coverage

  • Bonds (if required by the state)

Construction is high-risk. One claim can shut a business down. Contractor insurance keeps that from happening.

This is where many contractors get surprised. Policies typically do not cover:

  • Work outside your listed operations

  • Intentional damage

  • Poor workmanship (in many cases)

  • Using uninsured subcontractors

  • Claims outside policy dates

  • Work you’re not licensed to perform

If your policy doesn’t reflect what you actually do, a claim can be denied.

That’s why we review your operations in detail — to make sure your insurance actually works when you need it.

Whats not covered?
The Bottom Line

Construction is unpredictable. Your insurance shouldn’t be.

We work with contractors to:

  • Structure policies correctly

  • Control premiums

  • Reduce claims exposure

  • Make sure coverage responds in a crisis

Because insurance that doesn’t respond isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.

Contractor Insurance

Contractor insurance is a package of coverages designed to protect construction businesses from job site accidents, lawsuits, property damage, and employee injuries.

If you:

  • Have employees → Workers’ Comp is mandatory

  • Drive for business → You need Commercial Auto

  • Work on client property → You need General Liability

  • Want larger contracts → Proof of insurance is required

In many states (including California), you also need insurance to maintain your contractor’s license.

Even if you’re a sole proprietor, one uncovered claim can wipe out years of work.

Do I Need it?
